We are a multinational group of people, mostly from Uganda. Ugandan artists are the teachers for In Movement. This is key to the success of this program, as they not only deliver the arts curriculum, they serve as role models for the children. In Movement also supports the ongoing professional development of these artists to ensure the excellence of the program.

In addition to the artists, the In Movement team consists of an executive director, program manager, teacher coordinator, financial administrator, teacher trainers and curriculum developers.

In Movement is also supported by a team of international experts in business, law, arts, education and development.

In Movement started in 2003 as a pilot project in two orphanages. During that time we saw the potential to develop a program using arts education and Ugandan artists as the teachers to expand opportunities and improve the education of disadvantaged children in Kampala.

Over the next two years, we established ourselves as an organization and program team. By 2006, the program was in full swing. We began the year with 30 children, five teachers, and one orphanage.

Now, a year later, we are working with more than 250 children, 13 teachers, and five orphanages (Katwe Youth Development Association - Kayda, Reach Out, Daughters of Charity, Literacy Center and Bananuli).

In 2007, In Movement built its own art center in Kansanga, Kampala, where we now conduct our activities and performances.
